Hey! I'm looking at getting a cosplay from FineHorseCosplay. Their cosplays look absolutely amazing on their website. Yet I'm a little unsure. Because I've seen no reviews around After some google searching I eventually sent a few Tumblr asks and was referred to you because you've modelled for them. So do you think that they're a good company? And are their cosplays as good as they look on their site? Some more information about them would be appreciated. Thanks! :) — angelicroxas
The photos you see on the site are the product you will get.
Here’s some of the photos I took last week at Desu-Nation where they have some products on display.
A little about Fine Horse- they are a company that has catered to the cosplay market in Europe and Japan for about a decade. That is where the majority of the big spending cosplayers live and Fine Horse has a much longer history there. They *just* started selling to the US.
If I’m being real, the US isn’t the highest spending market out there. People go for cheap over nice quite a lot. The US market has been saturated with low quality pre-made costumes for a while, so they are hoping to offer something much better for people willing to invest in a costume.
Anything from Fine Horse is something you’ll need to save up for. It’s not like your standard pre-made costume. For that reason the cost is 3 or 4 times the regular cost of pre-made on ebay & taobao. In a lot of ways it’s like COSPA quality and pricing. The difference is it’s made to order, so they wont construct it until you place the order and it’s done based on your measurements. If you live in LA it’s possible to have a fitting done if you request it.
When you go on taobao and ebay, you’ll find A LOT of sellers using the product shots from Fine Horse in the same way companies will steal photos from companies like COSPA. Due to that, you’ll see what they make being used to sell much worse products all over the web with the watermark removed. In fact, I’ve even had stuff I’ve posted on facebook stolen by other companies implying it was what they produce. Fine Horse probably has it’s stuff ripped off more than any other cosplay seller online at this point.
The Saber Extra boots they gave me for the shoot are kinda nuts. They are made like real shoes, if that makes sense. I could actually wear them out like boots and they would hold up (not that I would want to but it’s possible lol) It’s hard to convey the difference in quality just over pictures or words, but the material is much thicker and nicer than other cosplay shoes I’ve dealt with. They also shine. It’s pretty crazy how nice they are.
I’m the type that would rather save up for something nice if I really love a character and want to cosplay them. If you are the same way & want really nice shoes, props, accessories, etc- they are the place to go to. Just realize you get what you pay for and it’s not a cheap option. It’s the quality option.
If this isn’t an entrance to a fairy world then I don’t know what is…
